The University of Madras (also known as Madras University) is a public state university located Near Marina Beach, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. University of Madras is one of the three oldest universities in India (other oldest universities are the University of Calcutta and the University of Mumbai). The Madras University was incorporated on 05 September 1857.
The university have 6 campuses in the Chennai city, they are Chetpet, Chepauk, Guindy, Marina, Maduravoyal, Taramani. And it also has more than fifty departments.
